BzzAgent BIC Soleil Disposable Shavers Review

Hey ladiessss! And men if you like reading about women’s shavers LOL.

Anywho, this is a review on my first BzzAgent Campaign. A little about BzzAgent is that it’s a site that you can create a profile on and get free stuff. How you may be wondering? Well you link all your social media to your Bzz account and take ALL the surveys. then you just kind of wait. Keep checking for more surveys. eventually you will get an email asking you to join a Bzz campaign. Once you join, they send you your goodies and then you just review the product and say what you liked and what you didn’t like.

Anyone can join BzzAgent. I have been on it for about a month and a half and I have had two Bzz campaigns. I’m hoping I get a really cool one soon ๐Ÿ™‚

Well onto the review….

Image

This Bzz campaign is for the new disposable shaver by BIC. I give you the BIC Soliel Glow! I’m not sure if it is the first disposable razor with a pivoting head, but I am impressed. I generally use Venus Embrace, and by golly miss molly, BIC has made a cheaper product that works just as good! Hello money savings ๐Ÿ™‚

In the box came a pack of 3 disposable razors, it’s been a week and a half and the first one is still working great!

I received 10 $3 off coupons. The package of three shavers retails for $6.99. That’s like a 50% off coupon!!!

Image

Here’s a close up of the razor head. It has the moisture strip, 3 blades for a close shave, and the little rubber strip that fancy razors have and I have NO idea what it’s for. But it has it ๐Ÿ˜›

Am I satisified with this product? You bet! I love to save money and I love to find a cheaper way to get the same job done, and I have found it! Thanks BIC!!!

Ta ta for now ladies.

Check out my YouTube video review of the BIC Soleil Glow razors hereย ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s my first video so don’t judge the crappy quality of the video.

Influenster Mary Kay MKGlam VoxBox Review

…Influenster & Mary Kay Bring You…

The Sun Kissed MKGlam VoxBox

Image

Hey guys! This here is the Influenster VoxBox…. Each month is different. you may not even get one every month.

What the hell does that mean?!

Well if you haven’t heard of Influenster, let me fill you in on the deets of this awesome deal!

Influenster is a product review website. You join by invite, fill out your profile, link your social media to it and win cool stuff! All for FREE! And I mean freeeeeee!

So what you do after getting invited and fill out your profile and link your social media, you unlock badges. Long story short, you do surveys and review products through badges aka things your interested in. For example, I have the beauty badge unlocked, so I got the chance to get a beauty related VoxBox.ย

I have been on Influenster about a month and a half and I am not the most active. I received and email from Influenster saying I am prequalified for a VoxBox. I took the survey and qualified ๐Ÿ™‚ 2 weeks later I got a big ‘ol box of goodies for free ๐Ÿ™‚ Not joking!!

I got the MaryKay MKGlam VoxBox.ย

All you have to do when you recieve a VoxBox is try out the products and fill out a survey.. now you can be as active as you want.. but the more active and influential you are, the higher your Influentser score goes.. then you get even more VoxBoxes.

ย Image

Upon opening and removing packing peanuts, this is what I was left with. Nine FULL SIZEย MaryKay products for me to try out.

*happy dance*ย

The packaging was adorable! Pink tissue paper and even the box was pink and grey too.ย

So let’s jump into this box of goodies!!

DISCLAIMER: These products were sent to me for free by MaryKay and Influenster for FREE in exchange for my HONEST opinion. ย  ย  ย  I am not sponsored or paid for this review and these opinions are my own true opinions.

Image

The first item is the MaryKay Cream eye Color in Apricot Twist. It retails for $14. I have never used cream shadows prior to this item, so I can’t say if this one is better than others. What I can say is that it works great for an eye shadow base. ๐Ÿ™‚ I like it under my other shadows, it doubles as a primer and adds some shimmer to your eyes. On its own it’s pretty nice. I’m not sure if I would buy it for myself. It’s a very nice golden color. you can see the swatch in the photo above…obviously ๐Ÿ˜›

The second item is the MaryKay Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush. It retails for $12. the color is a very pretty springy pink with some orange shimmery undertones. Color is great… but on my face, not so much. I prefer matte blushes and with my fair skin tone, the orange shimmer just doesn’t match well. However, I have been using it as a shadow and its GREAT! I also will add a little bit on my cheeks and then put a matte blush over it to blend it and that works great too. So with the blush, I would say it’s not worth the $12, unless you like shimmery blushes.

The third item is the Marykay bronzing Powder. It retails for $18. The bronzer is for light to medium skin tones and it’s great. It’s a bronzer and it works. LOL I wish there was more to say, but there isn’t. It’s not my go-to bronzer, But I deff like it. It’s also great for contouring since it’s a darker shade. This one has shimmer to it which is OK. I still prefer matte over shimmer. But shimmer gives you a sun kissed glow so it’s all good ๐Ÿ™‚

Image

Up next we have the MaryKay Lash Love Mascara in I ♥ Black. It retails for $15. At first I loved this mascara! It’s super black and it claims to add massive volume… and it does. It’s super lengthening and volumizing. But the damn brush pulls out way too much mascara so your lashes kind of clump together. Basically it creates more work for you.. you have to either scrape off the excess mascara or use something to separate your lashes. Then it’s amazing! If it came with a different brush I would totally buy this again ย with out a doubt.ย

ย Image

Moving on… Here is the MaryKay Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush in Jet Black. The pair retails for $18. First off, that brush is a Barbie brush, it’s way to short. But whatever. I think it’s basically free and you are just paying for the liner itself. So the liner is a great black. It also lasts all day and doesn’t transfer much onto the upper lid. I have slightly oily lids and always have issues with my liners transferring through out the day. This stuff did pretty good. Is it worth $18 bucks? Not really. I feel the price is a bit steep. I have a gel liner from MAC and Sephora and Rimmel… MAC was about the same price. But it’s MAC so it’s OK. The Sephora one was like $9 bucks which is great. the Rimmel one was like $6 bucks I think and it was OK. So $18 bucks for MaryKay is a bit steep in my opinion. It’s like Honda charging BMW prices.ย

Image

There were two brushes that came in the VoxBox as well. First is the MaryKay Powder Brush. It retails for $16… WHAT A FREAKING JOKE!! I’m sorry, but MaryKay, this brush is horrible!! I bought a cheap set of Shany brushes on Amazon for $15 bucks and got 24 brushes… those are WAY better than this powder brush.. and my Shany brushes aren’t that great. The bristles are hard and pokey, you can’t blend to save your life with this brush. DO NOT BUY IT!! There are way better brushes for that price.ย

The other brush, the MaryKay Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush retails for $10 and is great! I love it and I am happy to have it in my collection of brushes. It’s a good dense brush.

Image

Next we have the MaryKay NouriShine Plus Lip gloss in Mango Tango. It retails for $14. LOVE IT!!! the packaging is cute, the color is great. It looks a bit more orange in the swatch and in the bottle, but on your lips it’s more red. I love it on top of a red or coral lipstick. This gloss isn’t too sticky either. It really reminds me of Mac’s lipglass. Even the smell, it has a slight vanilla scent which I love! I can’t wait to buy more colors.

ImageThe last item is the MaryKay Translucent Loose Powder. it retails for $16. I think it’s totally fair for the price. There’s a lot of it and it works amazing!! I love me a good finishing powder and this baby is great!! I have quit using foundation powder with my liquid foundation because this just does a great job on its own!! I could go on forever about this powder. I think I have found a Holy Grail finishing powder. Good thing Influenster gave me a MaryKay catalog…cause I’m gonna need it.

All in all the products I got were good. and I mean the value of the box is $132 bucks and I got it for FREE! Some things I will buy when I run out and others I will just forget about them because they weren’t memorable. The only thing that was BAD in the box was that damn powder brush.ย

If you are interested in joining Influenster, send me an email to redlipsritz@gmail.com with Influenster invite in the subject line. I have a few invites left so hurry up and email me so I can invite you to Influenster and you can get free VoxBoxes too!!

April Stunner of the Month

Image

Hey Guys!! I’m back from my short hiatus… If you follow me, then you know that Nick the boyfriend got a job in Alaska and left this week. So I took a week and a half off from blogging so I could spend some quality time with him.

Well now he’s gone for 2 months, so this blog has my full attention and I am looking forward to it! I have a TON of stuff to review.

So lets just get right into it! This is a review on Stunner of the Month.

Image

Stunner of the Month is a sunglasses subscription box. For a measly $9.00 a month and free shipping they will send you a new pair of shades. How awesome is that?! I don’t know about you, but I have to have multiple pairs of shades. One for the car, one for the purse, one for the boyfriend’s car, one for the house.. one for each outfit. lol the list goes on. I have some designer shades that are over $100 and I LOVE them.. but I’m sooooo scared to ruin them so they NEVER EVER leave my car. But Stunner of the Month works for everything else under the sun ๐Ÿ™‚

StunMo (Stunner of the Month) is $9.00 a month, you can select to receive female shade or male shades or you can recive different ones each month. For example you and the boyfriend both want new shades, set the profile for mixed and it will alternate between male and female each month. I chose just female shades. You can skip a month if you need to and you can cancel at anytime.ย StunMo isย still kinda small so there isn’t a refferal program, but theyย are working on it. Easter was in April, so the StunMo sticker on the box had Easter eggs which I thought was a cute touch. ๐Ÿ™‚

Image

Lets open that box!! On your first box they send you a screwdriver fixy thing to tighten any screws on the shades. The shades come in a cute little fabric case to prtotect them which I thought was really cool. There was also a StunMo sticker which I have yet to use. There was a funny description card with the name of shades and the information on them. LOL I thouhgt it was ratherย funny. Then there was a StunMo card with their plan info on it and a 2$ off your first month coupon. If you’re interested, Use code BUCK50 for 2$ off. ๐Ÿ™‚

Image

The shades I got are called The Bocas. They are the the typical ‘big’ shades. These ones were square with yellow/brown lenses and mettalic leapord print on the corners. I looove them ๐Ÿ™‚ they’re a tad too big for my face, but big shades are still in so it’s ok ๐Ÿ™‚

From a ‘sunglass protection’ point of view these shades were great! They actually helped with the sun, gave everything a light yellowy tint. Since they were so big, the sun didn’t get inside the shades, which I personally hate it when the sun pokes through the sides of my shades. So all in all, you can’t beat $9 a month for new shades. ๐Ÿ™‚

Birchbox Subscription Review ~ April 2014

Image

The Arrival of the BIRCHBOX!!!!

Waaaa Hooooo ๐Ÿ˜€

Happy Humpday guys!!!! So today is Wednesday and it was pretty good. Well for the most part.

The GOOD:

My boss told me I am getting promoted and getting a raise, so that’s a bonus!ย

The sun was shining all day so that was another bonus.

I checked the tracking on my Birchbox and it said out for delivery, so I was REALLY excited for my first Birchbox.

I also found a new friend to replace Nick while I go to Carolina Rebellion which is a 2 day rock festival! So Excited. Butttttttttttt….

The BAD:

Yesterday I found out Nick is going to work in Alaska so he will be gone a few months and then home for a couple weeks and then back to Alaska, so get prepared for Blog OVERLOAD because this girl is going to have a lot of time on her hands. So I was/am really really sad about that. But today made me feel a little better.

The UGLY:

Since I have to get Nick a plane ticket this week, I might not have enough money to cover my ticket to Carolina Rebellion and I can’t get my money back for the hotel. So I might be at a loss. But we shall find out soon.ย

Anyways, enough about my Wednesday, lets get to Birchbox!

Birchbox was the pioneer of sample subscription boxes. I’m not going to get into detail as far as the background of the company. You can read more about them here.

Their membership costs $10 a month and free shipping.

Every month you receive 4-5 samples from beauty to lifestyle products. You can fill out a profile so your items are based off what you want. You can change your profile and preferences whenever you’d like, which I like because one month you can kind of get things you know you will like, or you can mix it up and try something new. Birchbox has a great reward system that earns you points for purchases you make, reviewing items from your Birchbox that month and you get points just for getting a box that month. You can skip a month if you need to for that extra couple of gallons in your car or if you don’t like the preview for the month, you can skip and renew the next month. All in all it sounds like a pretty good gig.

But what’s the catch? Apparently there’s a lot of complaints of too many foil packets or samples being too small to be useful. And I am about to find out for myself. I have a strong opinion and I’m not afraid to share it ๐Ÿ˜€

So without further a due, Lets open this bad boy UP!!

BIRCHBOX Rainy Days ~ April 2014

Image

Upon opening the box this was the first view after removing the cute cards on top and pulling back the tissue paper. Presentation was really good. I absolutely love the chevron print inside the box! I will totally be using this for storage on my vanity or in my bathroom.

Image

ย The goodies:

– Birchbox theme card ‘Rainy Days’ and on the flip side a description of what items are included as well as the prices for the full size products.

– Coupon code for 50 extra Birchbox points

– Tip #6 from Birchbox’s 52 Bright Ideas for a Rainy Day. My tip was to take a bubble bath. What was your tip?

– 1 KIND Snacks Healthy Grains snack bar

– Color Club nail polish

– Beauty Protector leave in conditioner

– Supergoop! CC cream

– Sumita Beauty eyeliner

Image

The KIND Healthy Grains maple pumpkin seeds with sea salt bar. Full Size bar (comes in pack of 15) It was pretty tasty. It’s a softer bar which I prefer over the crunchy ones. You can purchase these babies for $11.88 on the Birchbox website, it comes in a pack of 15. I split the bar with Nick, he was hungry. We both liked it. It reminded us of the crunchy Nature Valley Oats N Honey granola bar as far as taste. It’s gluten free, non GMO and has 5 super grains: oats, millet, quinoa, amaranth and buckwheat. It’s only 150 calories per bar, 22 carbs, 6 sugar, 3 protein and 3 fiber!

Will I buy it in the future? Yes!! They were yummy and they are cheaper and healthier than the Odwalla bars I buy now for 1$ each.

Image

The Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle leave in conditioner. Travel size for sure. The bottle is kind of a squishy rubbery texture, which I guess good be good for traveling so if it gets squished it doesn’t crack? Either way, it’s the product that counts right? Right! ๐Ÿ™‚ I have not been able to try it out, but I am looking forward to trying it out and doing a review as I have horribly damaged hair and desperately need a leave in condition and detangler… I am addicted to dying my hair which results in bad hair. LOL What I do know, is that this product has great reviews and smells DIVINE!!! I am sitting here with my nose in the bottle the whole time I’m writing this. haha You can purchase the full sized item for $21.95 on Birchbox’s website.

Will I buy in the future? Maybe, I still have to test it. But does it come in a perfume ๐Ÿ˜›

Image

The Color Club Gala Gems Collection polish is a mini polish, but its full sized compared to the set it comes in. The set has 4 different colors and they all come in a mini bottle. the color I received was Aquamarine Azulino which is a frosty metallic blue shimmer. It’s very cute. It’s a bit of a thicker polish, but I love the baby blue shade. it would look great with some silver sparkles and white polish ๐Ÿ™‚ Sounds like a Tiffany & Co. theme. The set of the 4 mini polishes can be purchased for $13 on the Birchbox website, however it is currently out of stock. . . Must be a hot selling item!

Will I buy in the future? Probably not. I have tons of polish and I am subscribed to a few polish boxes.

Image

Supergoop! CC cream… this bad boy sells for $32 bucks for the full size bottle which isn’t very big to begin with. And it’s a CC cream!! Not a foundation. But I’m not gonna knock it till I try. That is if I can actually try it. The sample is TINY TINY. It’s like one step above foil packets. I swatched it on my hand on the photo below. It seemed to work nice, But I am going to test it tomorrow for work. We shall see if it’s worth the fat sticker price. So this product has SPF 35 which is great, compared to most creams that only have 10-15 SPF. The description card says you only need a nickel sized amount.. Hopefully I can squeeze that much out ๐Ÿ˜›

Will I buy in the Future? As of now before thoroughly testing it, no. I pay that much for foundation no problem. But CC cream?1 It has to be a miracle for that to happen. I will Update once I actually try it. Have you tried it? What do you think of it?

Image

Sumita Beauty color contrast eyeliner. The full size version sells for $11 on the Birchbox website. I have never heard of Sumita. I am excited to try out a new brand. Sadly I am not much into pencil liners or purple liners, i wish it were black. But it could be fun.. maybe. I did swatch it on my hand, see below photo. It seemed to go on pretty smoothly and its a pretty dark purple so it might not be too bad. I will try it out and let you know how I like it.

Will I buy it in the future? Probably not because I don’t wear pencil liners, I prefer liquid liner. Have you tried Sumita products before? What did you think?

Image

Here’s my swatches of the Sumita eyeliner and the Supergoop! CC cream. I kind of like the liner. It’s like an eggplant purple and frankly, its small enough for travel or for my purse which is a bonus.

The CC cream i blended on the bottom half of my hand, it slightly tinted my hand, but I din’t notice a big difference. But I still need to test it on my face before I can give it a true review.

So my overall impression of Birchbox was pretty good. If you add up the value of all the items you end up with a box value of $14.66 which isn’t bad considering you paid $10. I will definitely continue my subscription! Looking forward to May!!

If you are interested in subscribing click my referral link hereย to sign up. Their referral program is great. You earn 50 points for every friend that signs up through your link! Plus you earn 10 points for every monthly box and 1 point for every dollar you spend. Once you reach 100 points you get $10 off which is awesome!! You will also earn 10 points for each item you review. If you review every item you can earn 40-50 points for your box, plus the 10 points for your box purchase making a total of 50-60 points per month. That’s like receiving a $10 off coupon every other month which pays the box its self! Its great!!

How To Revive Hair Extensions

Image

Hey you gorgeous faces!!

Sooo I’m a fake. I wear hair extensions. I used to have long pretty hair. Then I decided to go from black to platinum blonde. That went fine. but then i kept dying and dying it. My hair kept breaking off. So I had to cut it short.

I got hair extensions so I could have pretty long hair again. But as you know, hair extensions don’t stay soft and pretty forever. This tutorial will help you get some more longevity out of your extensions. I’m cheap so I don’t want to go buy a new set every couple months. I have had mine now for about 4 months and they are still holding on strong due to this amazing process that I am about to show you.

NOTE: This is for 100% human hair extensions ONLY. If you have synthetic extensions or a premium blend of the human hair and synthetic DO NOT TRY THIS! The synthetic hair will melt.ย

Reviving your extensions 101:

Image

To begin the journey to beautiful extensions, gather the items that you need…

You will need:

– Extensions in need of some TLC.

– An iron, I purchased mine at Target for $10.

– Heat protectant spray of your choice, I chose ‘Not Your Mothers’.

– Detangler if your extensions don’t brush out easily, I used what I had laying around, don’t judge ๐Ÿ™‚

– A wide tooth comb, obviously i need a new one as I am missing a few teeth on the end.

– A towel or ironing board. I used a towel on my counter.

Image

Lay your towel on the counter, or get your ironing board out

Take a section of your hair extensions and lay them flat on your surface

Spray your detangling spray a few times to prep the hair before brushing them out.

Take your wide tooth comb and start brushing them out from the tips and work your way up to the roots.

Image

After brushing, you will want them to look like the bottom half of the picture above. The top half is the ‘before’ and the bottom is the ‘after’.

Image

Once you have your extensions all brushed out, grab your heat protectant spray

Spray your extensions with your heat protectant spray and then brush your extensions with your wide tooth comb again.

Heat up your iron, make sure there water in it. You will want the steam to be used when doing this as it puts moisture back into the extensions.

Image

Once your iron has heated up,

Take your iron with one hand and grab the end of your extensions where the clips are with the other hand

Then hold the iron on the hair up by the roots (be careful of the steam that comes out since your hand is right there holding onto the hair) since you’re holding the iron on the hair you will want to pull the hair through the iron. Pull the hair through the iron. You can do this until the hair is soft enough. Once you have done it a few times on one side, flip the extensions over, respray the heat protectant and run your hair through the iron again. The iron essentially doesn’t move, its the hair that does.

If that makes any sense. >__<

Just make sure you don’t just let the iron sit on your hair without moving. ย It will leave kinks ans exposure to that much heat can be bad for it.

Image

Again, the bottom half is the ‘after’ and the top half is the ‘before’

This is how your extensions should look.. All pretty and straight and oh so soft ๐Ÿ™‚

Repeat these steps until you have finished all you extensions.

The End Result:
